Certified Personal Trainer - ACE
Completed: February 2016
The American Council on Exercise (ACE) is one of the leaders in baseline fitness certification. Since passing the exam I have gone on to implement the practices they have taught me to help positively impact and change the lives of my clients.
TRX Suspension Training
Completed: June 2016
The TRX training system was something I wanted to become proficient in teaching others how to effectively utilize it. From teaching people how to properly squat or do push-ups all the way to kicking someone's ass with just 30 minutes on the TRX, this has been an extremely useful addition to my skill set as a trainer.
Mixed Martial Arts - NASM
Completed: July 2016
Certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), I chose to add this certification as a way to diversify my programming. The MMA training is best utilized in a group setting but has helped me to tweak and improve the circuit workouts and super sets I would incorporate into a training session. Utilizing this style of training into some of your own workouts will also help you to improve you agility, mobility and endurance.
Fitness Nutrition - NASM
COmpleted: March 2017
Your dietary habits are the most important component of your training and are directly related to seeing the results you want. I so constantly had clients who had next to no idea about how poor their diet and eating habits were that I made it a priority to expand my knowledge in regards to proper nutrition. No I can't go with you to the supermarket, but I can help you better understand what your body needs in order to see results and accomplish the goals you have.
Orthopedic Specialist - ACE
In Progress
I have a lot of clients who have had shoulder or knee surgery and I wanted to expand my knowledge when it came to effectively implementing exercises that would help them recover and get stronger after those injuries. I am also using this as an opportunity to help anyone I work with in the future who may have more limitations due to past injuries or surgeries than those I have worked with so far.
CPR & AED
Completed: February 2016
I have been lucky enough to never apply this certification. But it is something important that everyone should look into obtaining. Check it out.
